Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to the obligatory "New Year" blog post. I just wanted to get on here to wish you all a lovely 2017 and share with you a few goals that I have for myself currently. I'm not usually one to set New Year's resolutions at the end of December to follow through with throughout the entirety of the new year, but I usually try to set new goals for myself constantly; sometimes monthly, weekly, or even daily. Because, let's face it, most of us are far from perfect, and for me personally, it is nearly impossible to stick with something for 365 days in a row. Although I am so thankful for a new year to start clean, on a day-to-day basis, I often do something that I regret, or there is something that I wish I could have done. Some of these things are big, others small. Nonetheless, I am constantly seeing aspects of my life that I need to improve. Unfortunately. Haha
#1: Have a Consistent Blog Schedule
Blogging is such a fun hobby to me and I want to do everything that I commit myself to with the best effort I possibly can. I apologize for my sporadic blog posts this past year. I really want to try and set out a schedule for myself to blog, most likely 1-2x a week, since I am still a student simultaneously. This requires me to set aside not so important things, so that I can do the things that I enjoy and make me feel relaxed, like blogging. :) My goal is to be consistent with decent quality content, even if it's simple.
#2: Stress Less
I may have mentioned this before in a previous blog post, but I tend to stress over the most insignificant things, that won't even matter a month from now. My goal is to simply let those small things go and give it all up to God. & as for the bigger stress factors that try flooding in...I know what triggers stress in my life, and instead of allowing it to happen and act as if it was inevitable, I want to be more in control of the things that I have control over. For example, procrastination, rehearsing, preparation. etc. I want to make sure I am doing my best so that if anything else comes my way, I can know that it isn't in my control, but only in God's. In that case, I still have 0 stresses, because I can trust and rest in Him.
#3: Put My Phone Down Once in a While
I'm going to be completely honest and say that this can be hard for me at times. It all comes down to balance. It 's so easy to feel like you need to prove yourself to followers, friends, family, etc. I just want to be able to enjoy my experiences and not feel obligated all the time to "be connected" and in the know of everyone else's constantly.
I am simply a young woman learning and loving life, trying my best in all that I do to keep Jesus at the center of it all. Follow me on my social media accounts linked on the top of the page to stay up to date!
