IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!! Goodness, it always seems like it comes by way too fast, but it feels so good for it to be here. Leading up to this point of the month, I have tried my best to do Christmassy things at Christmassy places as much as I possibly could. This means starting at home! Some of my favorite and most used Christmas objects lying around at home definitely include the movies " The Holiday", "Love Actually", and "Polar Express". These movies, I'd say, are must-see films during this time of year. Of course I have been filling all of the rooms at home with aromas by the use of beautiful candles (which are my favorite at any time of year) that make you feel like you're one of Santa's elves up at the North Pole wrapping presents and drinking hot chocolate. The past month I have also been listening to a few specific Christmas music albums on repeat, which is the norm for me. This all sort of ties in together to get me in the mood for the perfect Christmas outfits for special outings and occasions.
At the end of the wintery evening though, the real meaning of Christmas means so much more than all of this. When I step back and look at the big picture, it all comes together.
Earlier yesterday morning my mom said "never pass up an opportunity to do something good for someone else". I thought that other people should read this and just let it sink in. I thought to myself how powerful this statement is and it's crazy sometimes to see how self-centered and chaotic our world is. Random acts of kindness are not of the norm for us and it should be. Being polite to someone should not come as a shock to one another. People talk about Christmas being the most cheerful and pleasant time of year and we have accepted and expected nothing more once December 25th passes before our eyes as we sit with all of our new "things" that we focus on all month long. I just thought that my mom pretty much nailed it with this statement.
With this being said, I think I need a nice big cup of hot chocolate to top off a great night, which also reminds me the minuscule amount of visits that I have made to Starbucks for holiday beverages... I've missed out, man... I've missed out.... Merry Christmas everyone!!! And instead of waiting to be blessed this Christmas, remember to BE THE BLESSING ❤️
