I will say this past semester was the most hectic, stressful semester that I have experienced while in university. Each day felt like it would drag til the next project, assignment, exam, etc. and I constantly felt as if I needed another 8 hours of sleep. But, I survived, and not only that, I flourished and grew. School pushed me like never before to prioritize and work hard for good results. During my last academic advising meeting, I found out that I will be graduating a semester early!! At first, I wasn't sure whether to take this as good news or another thing to worry about in regards to a very soon post-grad life...Will I be continuing my education after getting my B.A., or perhaps just get a job? These are still questions that I have decided to take one day at a time and trust God to provide for me in all areas of my life, as He has and continues to do so on a daily basis.
Once I got past the initial fear of having my undergraduate education cut by a semester, I was so happy and grateful for the opportunity to save some money and begin my new journey in exactly one more year! Like I mentioned previously, fall of 2017 was pretty rough with my classes, but with every minute of overwhelm and tears of frustration, I had to lean into God more and more for peace and rest. College can be absolutely horrible if you let it overwhelm you, which I am still working on not allowing it to do. Another exciting thing that happened to me this semester was being inducted into the Sociological Honors Society, Alpha Kappa Delta. All of my hard work felt much more tangible than just good grades...I have a certificate for it! :)
I just wanted to go ahead and catch you all up on my educational experience, struggles, and successes for the semester as I prepare to enter into a brand new semester in 2018. Thanks so much for following my journey and supporting me and my goals/dreams!
